February Book Club

Thanks everyone, for participating in last night's book club. I learned a lot! And a big thank you to April for leading our discussion.

February's book club will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24th, at Kim's house. Kim's hubby, Dave, will be teaching us about poetry. BYOM (bring your own mug) for steamers.

Your poetry packets will be emailed to you soon! Please read them in advance, and bring them to the meeting.

Also, if you'd like to be entered into a contest for a pre-Valentine's Day dinner, made by Kim, please submit a poem (you can email it to Kim or submit it anonymously in the comments section of the blog) by Wednesday, February 10th. If you win, you'l receive your choice of the following (for the whole family):

Thai Shrimp Soup
Chicken Lettuce Wraps with Peanut Sauce

Stuffed Red Peppers
Salad
Spanish Rice

Sausage Won Tons (fried)
Rice

Spicy Chicken & Corn Chowder
Salad
Rolls

Red Pepper Soup (can do totally vegan, if you'd like)
Gourmet Cheese Platter (if I do the soup vegan, I'll assume you don't want cheese)
Salad
Rolls

Roasted Rosemary Chicken with Peaches and Butternut Squash.
Salad
Rolls

Don't be afraid! Pull out your old high school journals and copy down an angsty poem! Or write a new one!

  2. Yes, I love a good, entertaining book that you can just fly through. It's a nice break from our "deep reads," don't you think? I'm glad you liked it!
